Television Star Joins Nutley’s Young Women’s Initiative

Commissioner Steven Rogers announced today that the Nutley Young Women’s Initiative will be hosting assemblies at Nutley High School on the morning of April 30th at 8:30am, when BRAVO Television star Vikki Ziegler will be speaking to the freshman and sophomore students regarding the very hot topic of: “Toxic Relationships.” Vikki along with the Nutley Young Women’s Initiative Committee believe that our young women, and men, need to understand that although not every relationship works out these relationships do not have to be toxic! Rogers and Zeigler are frequent guests on HLN and FOX News. “We actually met each other on the Nancy Grace Show and hit it off well with regard to the news issues we were discussing. Vikki is an energetic woman who is committed to doing all she can to improve the lives of others. She continues to devote her skills and talents toward assisting young women to overcome the challenges they face each and every day,” said Commissioner Rogers. Ziegler is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where she studied Political Science, Sociology and Spanish, and Quinnipiac College School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut. While a student, she served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jerome Hornblaas in the Criminal Part of the State Supreme Court of New York and, in Rhode Island, worked for the Public Defender’s office in the Domestic Violence Unit and volunteered at a Battered Women’s Shelter. Ms. Zeigler is often called on to give her expert advice on television, radio and print. She is the new Host of Bravo’s reality show “Untying the Knot” which airs in June. She is also on HLN/CNN, Fox News and Fox Business Channel weekly. She has been on CBS, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox 5, Talk Soup on E!, WPIX, WOR, ESPN, VH1 and many other networks. She was featured in a Documentary for ESPN by 30 for 30 called “BROKE” featuring her commentary on athletes and divorce. She has contributed to top publications such as People Magazine. “Our department is working hard to encourage young women from 18 – 30 years old to join this initiative. The Nutley School district has opened the doors to bring programs such as this to their students. I can’t say enough about how good of a partner our school district is,” says Rogers. “Patty Cruz, one of our Public Health Nurses, has headed up this project and is having a positive impact on a number of young women who visit our office. I urge parents to speak to their daughters and encourage them to participate in the Nutley Young Women’s Initiative,” said Commissioner Rogers. View Source On: nutley.thejerseytomatopress.com
